The Acting Company was founded in 1972 by the late, venerable thespian John Houseman and Margot Harley, who continues to serve as producing director. Their goal was to bring professional productions of classic theater to underserved communities and to become a training ground for actors. In more than two decades the Acting Company has collected a long list of esteemed alums, including Kevin Kline and Patti LuPone. It remains an active and vital theater troupe, with none other than the RFT's Bob Wilcox saying, "As is always true of the Acting Company, the performers are all young people at the beginning of their careers, all exceedingly well trained, all extravagantly talented." Those extravagant talents are on display at the Edison Theatre as part of the Ovations! Series with Moliere's Tartuffe (pictured) at 8 p.m. Friday, March 26, and Shakespeare's Twelfth Night at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 27. Call 935-6543 or 534- 1111 for tickets.
