Cinema in the City. Webster University sponsors once-a-month Wednesday screenings in Beatnik Bob's Cafe. This month features Arthur Penn's Alice's Restaurant (1969), the film adaptation of songwriter Arlo Guthrie's classic hippie ramble of the same name. Plays at 7:30 p.m. April 3 at Beatnik Bob's Cafe, City Museum, 15th and Lucas streets. NR

Sunday Afternoon Film Series. The Holocaust Museum and Learning Center hosts a monthly series of movies relating to the Holocaust. This month features Les Freidman's Prisoner's of Freedom (2001), a documentary that illuminates the plight of refugees allowed into the United States during World War II. The film tells the story of these refugees' struggles to adapt to a new lifestyle amidst a turbulent chapter of history, and in the process examines the elusiveness of memory and the contradictions of storytelling. Director Freidman, a professor at Northwestern University, will introduce the film. Plays at 2 p.m. March 31 at the Holocaust Museum. NR
