For years, people have tried to discover the secret to McDonald's fries. Is it in the type of potato? The temperature of the oil? What about that rumor of sugar in the salt? Here's our question: Why do they bother? With the accessibility and price of McDonald's fries, it doesn't pay to mess up a kitchen with results that probably won't be as satisfying -- especially when you crave the genuine article. Hey, we even know people who'll pick up $8 sandwiches elsewhere, then complete their meals with fries from the drive-thru.
