Reel Late Midnight Movie Series. The Tivoli Theatre presents a summer series of classic and destined to be classic films. This week features Takeshi Miike's Auction (1999). Also playing this weekend as part of the series is The Princess Bride. Both play at midnight July 19-20 at the Tivoli. (NR)

St. Louis Filmmaker's Showcase. The St. Louis International Film Festival presents a festival celebrating the work of St. Louis area filmmakers. Over the course of six days, July 23-28, more than 70 short films, features, documentaries and advertising spots will be screened. On Tuesday, July 23, two events are offered. The first, titled "Relationships," is a series comprising work by, among others, Andrea Sporcic, Bobby Kirk, Matt Krentz, Dan Cross and Eddy Tauk. The second's called "When Bad Things Happen to Good People" and features films by Marc Syp, Rafael Lima, Stewart Layton, Ben Scholle, Jim Twickler and Victor Nash. The next night, Wednesday, July 24, features two programs: "She Said" and "He Said." The former consists of work by Kathy Corley, Deeds Rogers, Catherine Cathers and Margie Newman; the latter features work by Alan Brunettin, Dan Bowers and Bill Sawlich, Doug Whyte and Tom Grable, and Brent James. The early programs for both evenings begin at 7 p.m.; the late programs begin at 9:30 p.m. The showcase takes place at Webster University. NR
