Those in the coffee industry confirm this simple fact: a half-dozen years ago, St. Louisans just weren't that sophisticated in their coffee-ordering habits. They've caught up, though. Now, we order clever, increasingly complicated drinks with permutations that vary, a bit, from place to place. Maybe it's the consistency of the product, then, that helps push Starbucks into the winner's circle here. Or they fact that you can get a cup of their joe just about anywhere. The atmosphere? The victuals? All of the above? St. Louisans, it seems, love that little Seattle coffee chain like no other.
