Love Is Colder Than Death. Rainer Werner Fassbinder. Fassbinder's first film is an unusual gangster story: A small-time pimp named Franz is torn between his mistress and Bruno the gangster. Things get strange when Bruno and Franz become friends -- even to the point of sharing Bruno's girlfriend. Midnights at the Tivoli. Wet Hot American Summer, directed by David Wain, features fun and raunchiness of a summer camp set in 1981. Also, Dazed and Confused. Stars Janeane Garofalo and David Hyde Pierce, among others. Screens midnight Friday-Saturday, June 27-28, at the Tivoli. NR

St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase. Cinema St. Louis presents its third annual showcase of 65 works, including documentaries, comedies, narratives and experimental films by filmmakers based in or with connections to St. Louis.
