Nothing tastes like nostalgia. And no concrete we've ever tasted combines childhood winter-holiday memories with reminiscences of carefree summers past like the Great Pumpkin, a seasonal concoction whipped up August through December at Ted Drewes. Even the way the Great Pumpkin is made -- an entire slice of pumpkin pie is dumped into the mixer alongside a helping of vanilla custard, then topped off with a meringue-like whipped cream -- sounds like something we would've tried to get away with back in our younger days while Mom was downstairs doing the laundry.
