Best Ethnic Restaurant Row

South Grand Boulevard between Arsenal and Utah streets

The St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission has taglined the South Grand district "St. Louis' International Neighborhood." As non-visitors who take great pride in the area's ethnic eats, we can only say: Duh! With its relentless representation of Vietnamese and Thai fare, not to mention multiple Middle Eastern and Italian joints and dashes of French, Japanese, Chinese and Mexican, this six-block stretch rivals the multiculti smorgasbord of Washington, D.C.'s Adams Morgan neighborhood -- or, at least, the food court at EPCOT. And what South Grand offers in quantity, it backs up in quality; longstanding faves like Pho Grand, The King and I, and Kabob International, to name only a few, offer many of the best cheap eats in town.
