Sure, Washington University has the inside edge for lining up guest lecturers. Wash. U. is a well-endowed institution with a sterling academic reputation in the liberal arts. You expect them to lure your former secretaries of Housing and Urban Development (Andrew Cuomo), your environmental defenders (Robert F. Kennedy Jr.), your hip scientists (Dr. Charles Falco). And sure enough, all of 'em lectured at Graham Chapel during this past year as part of the Washington University Assembly Series. What you don't expect is arch-conservative Ann Coulter to take the podium -- but that's exactly who they trotted out this year. That curveball was absolutely filthy; locked us up and left us gawking. Keep it up, folks, and you'll get the award next year, too.
