Kansas City
Our little sister city to the west, Kansas City, takes a heap of abuse from us. Some of that stems from the Don Denkinger Incident, some is just normal sibling rivalry. There comes a time when siblings grow up, mature a little bit, and realize that the smaller, younger, slightly stankier sister ain't so bad. So we're going on record: If you're looking for a change of pace, you could do worse than Kansas City. In fact, if you're looking for a fun weekend away from the River City, you oughta seriously consider Midtown Kansas City. It's a short drive away, it's cheap, and for the young thrill seeker, KC has a lot to offer. From YJ's funky lunch counter to the Broadway Café (best coffee in the state, maybe) to the vinyl haven that is Music Exchange to the strange assortment of bars (Kenny's Newsroom and Dave's Stagecoach Inn have killed many a brain cell in the best possible fashion), Kansas City is all right by us. But you don't wanna live there. Trust us.
