Scott Warren no longer lives in St. Louis, but the Signal Hill Transmission co-founder hasn't forgotten his Midwest roots. The LA-based band recorded its first release, 2001's Home, at the Upper Room, and Warren tends to bring his quartet this way whenever he can. Which is lucky for us, judging from the heavenly pop hooks on SHT's full-length debut, Tomorrow, the Stars. Soaring and dipping with the grace of a looping kite, Stars resembles a less-synthesized Psychedelic Furs -- Warren's vocals compare to Richard Butler's, albeit without the gargling-with-gravel timbre -- and conjures the hook-laden swells of indie-popsters Kent and pre-stadium-tours Radiohead.
Show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $10; call 314-862-0009 for more information.
