Up to this point in its young career, the California quintet Finch has been known primarily for two things. One was helping usher in the Age of Screamo with its 2002 debut, What It Is to Burn. The other was getting into an onstage brawl with Disturbed at a 2004 festival in Pennsylvania -- a beef instigated two years earlier by Finch guitarist Randy Strohmeyer, when he remarked in an interview that he wanted to shoot Disturbed singer David "Ah-wah-ah-ah-ah" Draiman "in the fucking head," essentially for making shitty nü-metal music. It's no small irony, then, that on its newly released second album, Say Hello to Sunshine, Finch goes for a hybrid of Faith No More and Helmet -- the twin forefathers of the nü-metal movement -- that ultimately sounds a lot like early Incubus. Ah well, if you can't beat 'em (up), join 'em!
