The BoDeans have dealt with being mid-level roots-rockers for years, a struggle culminating in an eight-year recording hiatus marred by legal action against a former manager. Last year's Resolution and August's live double CD, Homebrewed: Live from the Pabst, put the Milwaukee group back on track, but it's unlikely they'll ever recapture the momentum gained when Rolling Stone voted them "Best New Band" in 1987 and their song "Closer to Free" became the Party of Five theme song. That's too bad, 'cause their live show is an infamous brouhaha of harmonies, Western-tinged guitar and bouncy beats that could make even the biggest tight-ass sing along.

Show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20; call 314-726-6161 for more information.
