Eat Better, Drink Better and Be Merry

Do it for all the starving actors

'Fess up: Your weekend plans involve scarfing the Number 3 Platter from Church's Fried Chicken, washing it down with a box of rose wine and watching Fresh Prince on Nick at Nite while compulsively checking your e-mail. Isn't it about time you classed things up a bit? Opportunity knocks with the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis' Fourth Annual Food & Wine Experience at the Chase Park Plaza (212 North Kingshighway Boulevard). Revel in a banquet of freshly prepared foods, tastings of more than 400 wines from around the world, seminars featuring celebrated guest chefs (former White House executive chef Walter Scheib and "The Fearless Chef," Andy Husbands, for example) and sommeliers, cooking demonstrations, and more. The festivities run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and continue from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday (January 28 and 29). Tickets are $25 to $65, and wine and food seminars cost $10 per session. For a full list of events and ticket prices, visit www.repstl.org or call 314-968-4925. And while you're bein' all classy, you'll be doubly delighted to hear that all proceeds benefit the education and community outreach programs of the Rep. Cheers!
