The Savvis Center (South 14th Street and Clark Avenue) plays host to a high-flying, high-energy high school basketball extravaganza. Take a seat at 3:30 p.m. to see the Sumner and Vashon girls do battle, and try to stay seated as the Cleveland NJROTC and Roosevelt boys go at it at 5:15 p.m. The games have been arranged to help raise awareness for PHL, Inc., a nonprofit group that strives to improve the athletic facilities of our area's public schools. "PHL, Inc. Live!" is free for all, and in addition to the games, the event includes appearances by local NFL alumni, performances from a medley of students and a video narrated by Pro Football Hall of Fame tackle Dan Dierdorf. For more information about the organization or the fundraiser, visit www.phlinc.org.
