Dante's saves the day
When Velvet closed, a little part of Ms. Day died. And while she'll never be able to repair that necrotic corner of her heart, she will be able to handle the pain a little better now that Dante's is reopening in its former space (3221 Olive Street, where Seven was most recently). George Acosta gets the club started on the right foot tonight along with locals Trevor Matthews, Cypher and DJ Freshstep, and Christopher Lawrence hits the decks next week — talk about opening with a bang! Tickets for tonight's show (happening from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.) are $10 to $20 and available at Vintage Vinyl and through www.groovetickets.com. (And for those of you worried about Seven's salsa night: Dante's promises to keep Fridays sexy with salsa.)
