Aside from being magically tan in his press photo, Kevin Spencer is actually magic. So much so, in fact, that he can make his wife, Cindy, float in mid-air — and that's not all! These two put on a show called Theatre of Illusion (www.theatreofillusion.com), which combines Houdini-style escape tricks with audience participation, death-defying illusions (natch) and super bright, colorful lighting (that would be the "theatre" influence). And Lucky Charms for us, the Spencers "appear" in town today, so leave your sad little card tricks and berabbited hat at home, and check out their real deal at 2 or 7 p.m. at the Florissant Civic Center Theatre (Parker Road and Waterford Drive, Florissant; www.florissantfinearts.com). Tickets for the show cost $23 to $25 (at 314-921-5678), and it doesn't look like there's an extra charge for the "fortunate" audience member who gets to experience the "Spikes of Doom" — so good luck with all that!
