Child-pornography charges and supposed accusations of domestic violence notwithstanding, R&B impresario R. Kelly is a musical genius. Who else could reinvent himself from a box-shape-haircut-having, shoulders-and-hips-gyrating "Honey Love" new-jack of the early '90s, to the optimistic, stay-the-course "I Believe I Can Fly" pandering do-gooder of yesteryear, to the opera-infused, keep-it-in-the-closet composer of the "Trapped in the Closet" musical mini-series of today? Not many.
