Before you get all excited about Hydeware Theatre's uncut production of The Iceman Cometh, realize that this play is neither about Paul Wall arriving on the scene, nor is it an adults-only sequel to Cool as Ice. But you should still go see Eugene O'Neill's classic downer about an annual visitor to Harry Hope's bar. This year, when Theodore Hickman arrives at the dive, he dismantles the dreams of the barflies who hang out there. And you can be one of those barflies some audience members will actually be seated at tables in Hope's bar on the stage, with the action taking place all around them. Cool, huh? This unique seating option plus the strength of the work and Hydeware's reputation should be enough to compel you to purchase tickets, which are available through MetroTix (314-534-1111 or www.metrotix.com) for $10 to $15. Iceman opens this evening at 7 p.m. at the Regional Arts Commission (6128 Delmar Boulevard) and runs through Saturday, March 25. For more information about other days and times, visit www.hydewaretheatre.org or call 314-368-7306.
Thursdays-Saturdays. Starts: March 16. Continues through March 25
