The only thing better than a play that explores the plight of stage actors and the strange world in which they operate is a free play that does so. See Anton in Show Business, performed by the Meramec Theatre at St. Louis Community College-Meramec (11333 Big Bend Boulevard). This Jane Martin comedy charts the backstage struggles of three actresses endeavoring to pull off a production of Chekhov's Three Sisters in a small Texas theater. Get there early, as seating is on a first-come basis, and leave the kids at home — this production is for mature audiences only. Performances are at 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday (April 12 through 16). For more information call 314-984-7562.
