With his oversize glasses, too-short tie and lyrics that ruminate on finding love at Star Wars conventions, Boston's MC Frontalot is an unlikely figure to spearhead a musical revolution. The Egghead Formerly Known as Damian Hess, however, coined the genre name "nerdcore hip-hop" in 2000 and is the subject of an upcoming full-length documentary named after his 2005 full-length, Nerdcore Rising. Sure, he's a novelty act, but Frontalot's skills actually fall somewhere between the loquacious tongue-in-cheekiness of Eminem and the cursory drawl of Nelly. And if anyone has a shot at lighting up the Internet with his beats, it's a computer nerd.
