For a while there, it seemed as if the St. Louis DJ scene was destined to lose its groove, what with all the club closings and everything. But fortunately, thanks to promoters like Brown & White and Disco, and Velocity, and new/revamped spaces (such as Urban on South Grand Boulevard, Dante's in Midtown and Molly's in Soulard), the turntables seem to be awakening. Of course, through all the Washington Ave. sadness, the reliable Oz Nightclub (300 Monsanto Avenue, Sauget, Illinois; 618-274-1464 or www.oznightclub.com) continued to thump. So reward the Wizard of All Clubs for its due diligence by showing up tonight for another boost to the scene, the Thursday Velocity party Turbo. Tonight's lineup is Curt Becker, Dan Catron and, the man behind it all, Rob Lemon (pictured), and the party goes from midnight to 5 a.m. ($8 cover).
