A French Toast

After eighteen years, Les Misérables stops in St. Louis. That isn't to say that the Broadway touring show hasn't been here before; it's just that this is the last place Les Mis plays before it returns to New York for a Broadway revival. Post-Bastille Day, the time is right to watch Jean Valjean (the thief-turned-people's-hero) spend this adaptation of Victor Hugo's novel evading super-dick Inspector Javert and rescuing that girl from the musical's poster. Jean sings songs, too. Les Misérables (you have to say it right to be let in) visits the Fox Theatre (527 North Grand Boulevard) from 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18, through Sunday, July 23 (visit www.fabulousfox.com for additional performance times). Tickets are $26 to $62; call 314-534-1111 or visit www.metrotix.com to buy them.
July 18-23
