While the accepted "skip out of work early" day is Friday, the pros'll tell you that the element of surprise is what makes a classic ditch. So shock everybody by ducking out of work this afternoon and skulking over to Shaw Park (South Brentwood and Forsyth boulevards, Clayton) for Parties in the Park. Beautiful people abound, martinis out-number the glitteratti, and food is available from your favorite Clayton eateries. Oh, and Dangerous Kitchen provides the music for this evening. Admission is free, but you only have from 5 till 8 p.m. to enjoy it all. Hmm. Maybe you'll need to leave the office around noon.
