Four-on-Four

It's four times the fun

Oh, but St. Louisans love soccer: It is the eighth sacrament in the Mound City, a sport as close to the heart as Little League baseball. But unlike basketball and baseball, soccer has never had an asphalt counterpart that requires less grass and less space. That is, until the Street Soccer Cup, a national event that returns to the St. Louis Mills (5555 St. Louis Mills Boulevard, Hazelwood; 314-227-5555) Saturday and Sunday, July 22 and 23. Street Soccer is four-on-four indoor-style soccer played outside on a small, blacktop pitch. Teams are open to players age five to adult, and spectating is free (the registration deadline to play has passed). Visit www.streetsoccercup.com for more details.
Sat., July 22; Sun., July 23
