See, most restaurants around town stop serving all manner of food whenever the kitchen closes. But the folks over at Niche (1831 Sidney Street; 314-773-7755) say to hell with that concept! They want to offer their desserts, which are as comforting as blankets just out of the dryer, straight through until 1:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights! So after you've been out and about all day, join Ms. Day at 11 p.m. as she settles in for some coziness, wine and "liquid" chocolate cake during this sweet, special time, dubbed Veruca at Niche. Oh, wait: As you can see from pastry chef Matthew Rice's dessert tray, Niche seems to be all out of the chocolate delight (that would be because Ms. Day moved into the elegantly small restaurant and ate every last drop of that bit of divinity); never fear, though, the apple-pie-ish concoction is just as delish (and, seemingly, readily available for the moment).
