Meet Me in St. Louis is the instructional video you'll see before taking your STL entrance exam, so you'll want these facts before you take the test: World's Fair? 1904. Nicknames? Mound City, Gateway to the West and, in more populous days, the Fourth City. Proper pronunciation? Louis, like Louis Armstrong. (He liked the "s.") "Meet Me in St. Louis?" The song is the only acceptable time to mispronounce the name and say "hoochie coochie" in the company of senior citizens. Live show or movie? Close call — better check out the live show when Stages St. Louis performs it Friday, September 8, through Sunday, October 8 (no performances on Monday), at the Robert G. Reim Theatre (111 South Geyer Road, Kirkwood). Tickets are $42 to $45. Call the box office at 314-821-2191 or visit www.stagesstlouis.com for more information.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: Sept. 8. Continues through Oct. 8
