The theater departments of five local schools bring their best stuff this weekend as they present a whopping five plays in the space of five acts in the sixteenth annual One-Act Play Festival. This year's fest promises to be the best one yet, as Fontbonne University performs "Graceland," Harris-Stowe State University enacts "The Watershed Syndrome," St. Louis Community College-Meramec comes correct with "Coming Out Is Hard to Do," Webster University brings "The Siren Song of Stephen Jay Gould," and representing the host school, SLCC-Forest Park, is "Psst...I Have Something to Tell You, Mi Amor."
The festival takes place at SLCC-Forest Park (5600 Oakland Avenue) in the Mildred E. Bastian Center for the Performing Arts. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, performances begin at 8 p.m., and a final matinee presentation begins at 3 p.m. on Sunday (September 21 through 24). Owing to adult content, the fest is for mature audiences only. Admission is $2 to $4; call 314-644-9386 for more information.
