Earth NightBy Alison SieloffPublished on November 15, 2006Recycling? Yep. Canvas grocery bags? Check. Hybrid ride? Mais oui. So you're obviously an enlightened friend of the Earth why should your artwork be any less eco-savvy? To straighten out this little oversight on your part, attend eARThworks: art for an endangered planet, an exhibit and gala auction happening from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Regional Arts Commission (6128 Delmar Boulevard). The silent- and live-auction soiree, put on by the Missouri Coalition for the Environment, includes bountiful bites from Shangri-La Diner, Mirasol, Duff's Restaurant, Meshuggah Coffee House and more; the music of Silk Pajamas; and the artwork for sale mentioned above, some of which is made out of recycled items. Participating artists include Jenna Bauer, Hilary Hitchcock, John Mueller and several others; for a full list, visit art.moenviron.org. Admission to the event costs $25, and food is included in this price. For more information and to purchase tickets, call 314-727-0600.
