Sportscasters are the cheerleaders of the newsroom. They have to be: Baseball has, what, 3,000 games per season per team, and the Stanley Cup isn't held until most of us are sporting tans. And that's not even touching football, basketball or, heaven help them, the Olympics. So what makes these ultimate fans tick? Get to the Saint Louis Science Center (5050 Oakland Avenue; 314-289-4400 or www.slsc.org), and brown-bag it with KSDK-TV's (Channel 5) Frank Cusumano, who's speaking there today at noon. Maybe he'll give you a heads-up on your office pool, or perhaps you'll find out if he really gives a crap about golf or high school football. This afternoon delight is free; you can buy a boxed lunch for $7.99 by calling 314-289-4424 a day ahead of time.
