Tropicalia Bacchanalia

Drunk on the sounds of samba, the Young Zoo Friends import some Brazilian heat for tonight's Zootini party (from 8 p.m. to midnight). With Carnival in mind, the YZFs transform the Living World in the Saint Louis Zoo into Rio de Janeiro with Brazilian-inspired cocktails and live music by DJ Sarah Cox, J Rob and the Remix Project. Tickets to the party are $35 to $45, and proceeds help the zoo's animal-conservation mission. Advance purchase is recommended (visit www.stlzoo.org or call 314-768-5440), as Zootini routinely sells out. And just as a cheetah wouldn't go to a party without his spots, don't deign to attend without proper samba style: Bring on the fruits and feathers, because the Zoo Friends expect their guests to look Rio-chic. And yes, Zootini is a 21-and-up event, so feel free to be a little daring.
