Ms. Day — who is practically perfect in every other way imaginable — has a problem with procrastination, specifically with regard to holiday shopping. She loves to give pressies that friends and family adore, but she just wants to buy them all on the same day — and that day would be December 23. But just maybe this year, she will be coaxed out of her state of holiday denial early. If so, she's sure to head to the Saint Louis Galleria (Brentwood Boulevard and Clayton Road, Richmond Heights; www.saintlouisgalleria.com or 314-863-5500) on the nation's busiest shopping day. There, she will find many of you, but she also will be delighted by three Sugar Plum Parties put on for the kiddos by Alexandra Ballet. Leave it to the dancers to elevate shopping with three million people to an occasion of grace and elegance! These free performances happen at 9:15 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. near Macy's, and seating is first-come, first-served. Treats will be offered, crafts will be made, and a shortened, narrated version of The Nutcracker will be presented. Way to shop, indeed!
