The Amazing Racers

It's inconvenient, but there's no gettin' around it: The planet is getting warmer, and people are talking about biking more and driving less. In fact, it seems folks are even paying extra attention to bicycle-racing — except during the winter months, when it's more difficult to get your two-wheel fix. Lucky for you, Mesa Cycles (1035 South Big Bend Boulevard, Richmond Heights; 314-645-4447 or www.mesacycles.com) makes it easy this evening to enjoy a little bike-centrism with the shop's third annual Cycling Photography Exhibition. The event runs from 6 to 10 p.m. and features work from local and national photographers — Matt James, Daniel Elavsky, Kurt Jambretz and Eric Filcoff — all of whom will be present to discuss their images, short films and the regional racing life in general. The artwork isn't free, but attending the event, drinking New Belgium beer and Northwest Coffee, and jamming to the Dave Stone Trio are gratis.
