We'd like to think that the Well Hungarians' RFT awards — Best Country Band 2004 and Best Band Name 2005, Readers' Choice — sit proudly and prominently on the mantel. But we'd understand if these accolades seem a bit less important these days, as the group recently won the title of "Best Country Duo/Band" at the 2006 New Music Awards given by New Music Weekly magazine, beating out such nationally established acts as Emerson Drive and Sugarland. Of course, this doesn't mean that the 'Hungarians changed their twangy tune to nab this honor — it just seems like the rest of the country is finally discovering the talent that St. Louis has known about since the early '90s.
