Christmas Fantasy Is Reality

More About

Once, the average five-year-old could be found pulling someone's hair, eating mud or possibly drawing all over the walls. Nowadays, most kids rot their brains in front of a television and eat as much refined sugar as humanly possible — and then follow the same pattern as adults. But not Bob Kramer: He dreamt of one day being a master puppeteer, and that's exactly what he became. And to this day, the marionette studio and theater that he opened in 1963 continue to be a dream-turned-reality. Kramer's Marionnettes show adults and children alike that innocent, fun and fanciful entertainment is alive and that magic is still possible. With the winter holidays here, this is the perfect opportunity (and excuse) to indulge in the current Kramer puppet show, Christmas Fantasy. With a few penguins, perhaps a polar bear or two, and lots of surprises, Christmas Fantasy could warm even the frostiest heart. Each performance has a behind-the-scenes sneak-peek that reveals the special effects behind the show (hint: Nearly everything is powered by imagination). The theater is located at 4143 Laclede Avenue. Tickets are $8.25 to $11.25 and reservations are required; call 314-531-3313 or visit www.kramersmarionnettes.com for more information.
