Holiday and Holi-Night

Christmas might be over, but that doesn't mean you have to give up listening to joyful music and close your eyes to the many festive light displays all around town. And when we talk about lights, we mean the electric variety and the sippable kind. So to celebrate all things twinkly and frosty, head down to the Anheuser-Busch Brewery. When you visit during the day and embark on one of the tours, you'll discover how beers (including the light ones) are made in the beechwood-aging cellars you hear so much about, plus you'll see the historic brew house and the packaging area — and samples are free! At this time of year, complimentary tours are offered from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The tour center is located at South 12th and Lynch streets; call 314-577-2626 for more information about holiday closures (New Year's Eve and New Year's Day), and visit www.budweisertours.com for more information.

Now, if you're in one of the later tour groups, stay close to the aroma of hops and barley in order to visit the brewery complex's other light display. This one is non-drinkable and outdoors, and you can enter the sparkling holiday scene (at South Seventh and Arsenal streets) for free from 6 p.m. to midnight through Friday, January 5.
