Harolyn Blackwell has filled a number of places with her sopra-notes — from the Metropolitan Opera to the Seattle Opera, from the White House to Broadway. So what humble space can St. Louis offer this Washington, D.C.-born, world-renowned performer? Why, the warm, intimate environs of the auditorium at the gorgeous Saint Louis Art Museum in Forest Park, of course! Blackwell presents a program titled Songs of the American Musical Theatre, accompanied on piano by William Hicks. Catch this stunning one-night performance at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $20 and can be purchased in advance at www.slam.org. For more information call the museum at 314-721-0072.
