Little Plants on the Prairie

After a few months of bare trees, withered grass, ice and snow — and a while longer to look forward to the same — January finds many of us thirsting for a touch of green. Luckily, the fine folks at the Missouri Botanical Garden (4344 Shaw Boulevard) feel our pain and are offering a glimpse of spring with the Watercolors from the Tallgrass Prairie exhibition by Illinois artist George Olson. The show is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily Wednesday, January 10, through Monday, February 26, at the Ridgway Center and is included with garden admission (which is free through Friday, January 26; $4 to $8 thereafter). For more information about the exhibition, which includes 35 works, call 314-577-9400 or visit www.mobot.org.
