Everything is always better when it comes in threes: three-day weekends, poker hands sporting three of a kind, the almighty trifecta and the elusive-but-often-whispered-about ménage à trois. But Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis (4431 Lindell Boulevard) offers up the most impressive threesome of the year with the Missouri Collegiate Choirs Concert this evening at 8 p.m. The University Singers of the University of Missouri-St. Louis and University of Missouri-Columbia, as well as the Concert Chorale of Missouri State University, join voices for an extraordinary evening of choral music. Featured pieces include works by Mendelssohn, Rachmaninoff and Schoenberg, as well as a spectacular finale with a performance of Mozart's Lacrymosa (the seventh passage of his Requiem) by all three choirs. Tickets are $15 to $35 and can be purchased online at www.stlcathedralconcerts.org; for more information call 314-533-7662.
