Super Duper

There are two kinds of Super Bowl parties. There are the bad ones, where there's a single TV, a sad bowl of broken potato chips and nothing for the non-game-watchers to do except quietly wait for the yawn-inducing commercials (these expensive spots have not lived up to our admittedly high expectations in the past couple of years) — and then there are the good ones, like the Miami-themed Big Bowl Bash (presented by the RFT). This fabulous party, which is held at the VooDoo Café & Lounge at Harrah's (777 Casino Center Drive, Maryland Heights; 314-770-8100), features, first and foremost, fourteen plasma televisions and three HD movie screens on which one can see Prince (oh, and the game) more clearly. And forget the lame snack scraps: Appetizers abound at this football celebration. Plus, Red Bull supplies the drink specials, and fire dancers and swimsuit models offer up some entertainment. All you have to do to enjoy this Super Bowl in style is RSVP to footballparty@cheresseink.com, arrive at 5 p.m. to get settled in before the game starts, and bring cash for food and drinks — admission is free.
