What’s Hockey Without a Cup?

Perhaps you’re one of those people who enjoy watching high school hockey games on public access cable. If so, welcome to the club. We’re making preparations for our annual pilgrimage to the Scottrade Center (South 14th Street and Clark Avenue) for the 36th annual Mid-States High School Hockey Challenge Cup. Right now, high school teams are still playing the early brackets for the tourney, so we have no idea what schools will be represented in the Wickenheiser Cup (at 5:30 p.m.) or the St. Louis Blues Challenge Cup (7 p.m.) this evening. What we do know is that tickets are $8.50 for general admission, and we’ll be buying ducats for both; because, you know, hockey double-header, dude. Don’t see those every day. If you want to track the brackets, check out www.midstateshockey.org. For tickets or other information, call 314-241-1888.
