Australia has given the rest of the world many excellent things, including Foster's beer, INXS and Olivia Newton-John. (Technically Mel Gibson also grew up there, but we'll let that slide for now.) The latest name to add to that list of exports is the Sydney indie-pop act Youth Group. Although the quintet initially became best known in the U.S. when its dreamy cover of the '80s hit "Forever Young" became ubiquitous on The O.C., the band members display what capable songwriters they've become in their own right on the new Casino Twilight Dogs. In fact, whether they're swaggering through the midtempo "Catching & Killing" or offering heartfelt apologies on orchestrally tinged rockers such as "Sorry," these youths are obviously growing old gracefully.
