Get Pucked Up!

Wait, college hockey is big now? Who knew? Well, at the very least, the people who've bought tickets for the 2007 NCAA Men's Division I Frozen Four hockey finals at the Scottrade Center (South 14th Street and Clark Avenue; www.scottradecenter.com) know about this trend. A $155 ticket, if still available, gets you into the games on Thursday and Saturday (April 5 and 7), but you can sneak a peek at the Gordies and Waynes of tomorrow for a much more affordable price: The Frozen Four Skills Challenge, happening at Scottrade Friday, April 6, costs only $10 (at www.ticketmaster.com and 314-241-1888). During this event two co-ed teams of collegians show off their puck-control, skating, shooting and goaltending skills. The evening starts at 6 p.m. with the presentation of the Hobey Baker Memorial Award, college hockey's equivalent to the Heisman Trophy, and the Hockey Humanitarian Award; the Skills Challenge starts at 7:30 p.m.
Fri., April 6
