In addition to all of the planet-friendly activities happening on the Muny grounds in Forest Park on the actual Earth Day (Sunday, April 22; visit www.stlouisearthday.org for more information), there are plenty of earthy events on Saturday, April 21, too. And isn’t your planet worth a double-day dose of honor this spring? Yes. So head to the Missouri Botanical Garden (4344 Shaw Boulevard; 314-577-9400 or www.mobot.org) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday for displays and demos by all sorts of local conservation groups -- it’s kind of a one-stop information shop. Admission is $2 to $8. And if you want your Earth Day Eve to be a little more otherworldly, head out to Babler Memorial State Park (800 Guy Park Drive, Wildwood; 636-458-3813 or www.mostateparks.com/babler.htm) for Night Sky over Babler from 8 to 10 p.m. You’ll have the opportunity to peer through telescopes for free -- and get a feel for just how unique and worthy of love our humble little planet is.
