You don’t know crafts if you haven’t been to the Craft Alliance (6640 Delmar Boulevard, University City; 314-725-1177 or www.craftalliance.org) -- you’ll find no milk-jugs-as-planters here! Instead, during the Friday Night Free for All, you’ll have the opportunity to make a glass bead, throw clay on a wheel, weave on a loom and help construct a clay castle. Plus, you can watch demonstrations of several other craftworks, including raku (a Japanese pottery technique), woodworking and more. As the name of the night suggests, all of this fun is free, and if you find a craft you really enjoy, you can sign up for a class to learn more. The Free for All runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., but that unique bead will last you a lifetime.
