Nekromantix

7 p.m. Monday, May 21. Creepy Crawl (3524 Washington Boulevard).

Undoubtedly one of the most disgusting films ever, Nekromantik graphically depicts a fetishistic couple's ill-fated sexual obsession with a mangled corpse. Denmark's Nekromantix can't induce the same stirrings of intense nausea using lyrics alone, but misogynist murder fantasies such as "Who Killed the Cheerleader?" and "Dead Girls Don't Cry" might upset the uninitiated. Resembling Reverend Horton Heat in Halloween regalia, Nekromantix combines turbo-charged psychobilly (complete with a coffin-shape stand-up bass) with horror-business lyrics. Though they retain only one original member (singer/bassist Kim Nekroman), Nekromantix's latter-day releases and live performances maintain a much more consistent level of quality than, say, the post-Danzig Misfits.
