Sporting dangerously low-cut V-necks and a flowing mane of dark brown hair, The Academy Is... frontman William Beckett is probably the closest thing the pop-punk scene has to Robert Plant — and that comparison is even more apt when listening to the band's sophomore release, Santi. By incorporating influences such as Queen and Led Zeppelin into its melodic rock sound, TAI has transcended its pop-punk tag and would fit in just as well at Lollapalooza as they would Warped Tour.
