Everyone who thinks running is overrated and walking underrated, wave your Adidas in the air. (Well, take ´em off first.) Now, put your shoes back on, and point them due east toward Belleville, Illinois, for the informal program called Wednesday Walkers Historical Walks. From 5 to 6:30 p.m. every Wednesday through June 6, you can enjoy a self-guided tour of the city’s downtown. Just meet in front of the Belleville Main Street office at the corner of North Church and East Main streets to get a free map anytime during the aforementioned time frame, then commence to strollin’. Along the way you’ll learn that Belleville is an interesting town with a heck of a lot of character. There’s no cost involved, and the routes change weekly. Wednesdays. Starts: May 16. Continues through June 6
