Do You Remember Me?

Where does a beautiful, rock-singin' lady with a voice that defined acid-rock in the ´60s (not to mention a criminally underrated 1971 collaboration with Paul Kantner titled Sunfighter) seek new artistic boundaries in 2007? In fact, the unequivocal legend, the Grace Slick, hit the painting realm in 1990 and never looked back. She visits St. Louis this week with her work, but this ain't no Bob Ross happy-little-tree-trip, man! We're talkin' freak-out, baby, Alice in Wonderland down the rabbit-hole. Slick's work has turned heads in the art world, and you can turn yours at the Wentworth Gallery in Westfield Shoppingtown-West County (Manchester Road and I-270, Des Peres) from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and again from noon to 3 on Sunday (June 16 and 17). All art on display is available for purchase, including the requisite Alice renderings, and also some inspired portraits of Slick's musician friends. Visit www.wentworthgallery.com or call 314-821-8884 for the truth, baby.
Sat., June 16; Sun., June 17
