Our first car was a one-of-a-kind gray 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera. We don’t mean to brag, but it was museum-worthy, a wonder of both nature and automotive design. The roof leaked when it rained, which resulted in lake-like puddles where we raised goldfish. (It was good feng shui.) When our radio worked, we’d crank Falco’s “Der Kommissar,” and everything was right with the world. So naturally we’re going to the kick off of the Kemp Summer Concert Series at the Kemp Auto Museum (16955 Chesterfield Airport Road, Chesterfield; 636-537-1718 or www.kempautomuseum.org) at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 14, to “aah” over cars we’ll never own, and to rock to Plastic’s ยด80s-heavy set list -- our Cutlass would’ve looked great next to all of those Mercedes Benzes. Tickets are $5, and that includes admission to the museum itself. Bring a little extra money if you’re hungry -- Espino’s Mexican Bar and Grill provides concessions and a cash bar. The Kemp Summer Concert Series continues on the second Thursday of the month through September.
Second Thursday of every month. Starts: June 14. Continues through Sept. 13
